CoreWeld

HA-International supplies a wide range of core and mold pastes. CoreWeld is used to glue cores or molds together and hold them together under metal pouring conditions. The core or mold pieces must be held together until the glue is cured. These pastes are made using several formulations depending on the application and requirements of the customer. CoreWeld is available in two versions, water based and solvent based. The water based versions are liquid pastes used in NoBake applications. Cores or molds must be held in place until the paste dries, generally overnight. Curing can be accelerated by applying heat. The solvent based versions dry rapidly in 30-60 minutes.

Water Based Pastes

CoreWeld NB Stnd – A water based sodium silicate adhesive. It will air dry over a period of 12-24 hours. This Standard version has a medium viscosity for general applications. Cure may be accelerated by applying heat.

CoreWeld NB Thick – A water based sodium silicate adhesive. The viscosity of the Thick version is about 50% higher than the Standard product. The Thick version is used where a heavier bead of paste is required to fill a gap or where the paste must stick to a side wall without running. Cure may be accelerated by applying heat.

CoreWeld Dip – CoreWeld Dip is a water based organic paste used in automated pasting operations. The viscosity can be lowered by the addition of water. Curing occurs as the water evaporates and can be accelerated by applying heat.

Solvent Based Pastes

CoreWeld NB FastDry Stnd – FastDry Stnd pastes are solvent based for fast drying. They will cure in as little as 30 minutes under reasonable temperature conditions. The Standard version has a medium viscosity for general applications.

CoreWeld NB FastDry Thick – FastDry Thick is a higher viscosity version of the FastDry Stnd. The Thick version is used where a heavier bead of paste is required to fill a gap or where the paste must stick to a side wall without running.
