Resin Coated Sand Products
The Shell Process is better than ever today as it remains the world’s predominant core making process. HA International is proud of its leadership position in the development of innovative shell resin and resin coated sand products.

Custom Coat Custom Coat Resin Coated Sand
HA International customizes each and every resin coated sand formulation so you can optimize your operation's unique capabilities. Our Custom Coat product line is produced and manufactured to your products exact specifications.

Super F®, Super FII®, FT® Resin Coated Sands
The Super Series coated sands were developed to accelerate machine cycle times. The investment rate and cure time of these products is as much as 35% faster than standard products. This results in reduced core and mold cycle times. Super Sands have also demonstrated improvement in uniformity of cure which allows reduced core and mold weights.

SHAKE-FREE®
Shake Free resin coated sands are designed for use in aluminum and brass applications where core shakeout is a critical factor. Shake Free can eliminate or reduce the need for costly operations required to remove cores from castings.

EcoMission Product Line
HA International supports sustainability by minimizing foundry environmental impact of our products while continually improving their performance and value. Our Resin Coated Sand products Custom Coat E-Series and Sigma Sand are part of the Environmental Solution.

Custom Coat Custom Coat E-Series Resin Coated Sand
We have extended our resin coated sand product line to include Custom Coat E-Series, an environmentally compliant line of formulas that reduces ammonia and formaldehyde emissions by 30% and 60% from conventional formulas.

Sigma Sand SIGMA SAND®, SIGMA SAND LP®
Sigma Sands are the sands of choice for environmentally conscious foundries. Lower phenol, lower nitrogen, reduced odor and improved casting quality are the most significant attributes of these products. Sigma Sand and Sigma Sand LP represent the latest Shell Process Technology.

Safe Handling of Super Sack Containers
At HAI we are committed to providing information to our customers regarding the safe and environmentally responsible use and handling for our products and containers. Please view the FIBC safe handling guide for our Super Sack containers.

Troubleshooting the Shell Process
Operating problems can occasionally crop up, even in the most carefully supervised shell process operations. When they do, quick corrective action can make the difference between a minor inconvenience and a serious dollar expense to the foundry. Our trouble shooting guide draws on the experience of HAI’s field and laboratory personnel to summarize some of the more common shell process operating problems with suggested solutions that have been successfully used in other foundries.

Advantages of the Shell Process
In today's environmentally conscious world, the Shell Process provides workers with numerous operating advantages:
  • Shell Process products contain low or no formaldehyde.
  • Shell Process molds and cores remain usable indefinitely and are un affected by high humidity storage.
  • Shell cores can be made hollow resulting in significantly lighter weight and lower cost cores.
  • Hollow cores and light weight shell molds burn more completely, and yield waste sands that contain less organics.
  • High strength cores and molds yield castings with precise dimensional tolerances.
